Horseback Riding

Stockton is just checking things out while the horses were getting saddled up.
Ally and Abby were super excited to get on the horse! They could barley contain themselves waiting for the horses to get ready.

They each got a turn being in front. We were also going to give them a turn on their own but Ally didn't want to be alone. These two girls are absolutely adorable together.

Abby riding the horse alone. She did a great job!!
Yes...I admit that I couldn't help it and got on that horse. It was a blast!! The horse I'm on was feeling rowdy and I had fun running with him.

Stockton wanted to pet the horse, but not ride. I got him up there for a minute but that little turd wanted down.
Even cute Carson had fun watching the big kids ride the horses!!

A Plane! A Plane!

Since we are taking the kids to Disneyland next month, on an airplane, we decided to take them up to the airport to watch the planes fly over. We went with Grandpa and Grandma Konold, Laurie, and my family. It was a blast!!

We were really close to them. Stockton loved the sound they made as they flew overhead.

This was a great way for they guys to bond.

Laurie (Paul's sister) wouldn't get out of the car but she enjoyed watching and hearing the planes fly overhead. She is also going to Disneyland with us!! I'm excited for her to get out on vacation, it's been a long time.

My adorable Carson is doing better than expected after his fall. He is a constant smiler. A simple pleasure to have around.

This was hilarious!! I told Paul, on the ride home, that he and I never get our picture alone together. So while we were stopped at a stoplight I held up the camera to get a picture of me and the best hubs ever. Only when I downloaded the pictures did I see Stockton in the background trying to get in the picture. What a doll. I adore both my children and do not know how I lived without them for so long. :)

The Horrible Fall...

Paul and I were walking to the field at Orem Elementary to watch my nephew, Talon’s, football game. Stockton was holding his tiny folding chair, Paul holding both of ours and I was carrying Carson (in new shoes, which I have thrown away). Suddenly I find myself tripping over those damn shoes and unable to steady myself I went DOWN with my sweet, unsuspecting child. EVERY time I relive that moment, which has been nigh unto a million times, my stomach drops because it feels like it has been torn away from me.

All I really remember is looking up to see Carson on the pavement. Paul picked up my sweet son off of the ground and found a bleeding mouth and massive bump on his head, already turning blue. Carson began to dry heave as if trying to vomit, while screaming out of control. We might as well have been blindsided by a car because in a mere moment Caron and I were down. Why couldn't I have miraculously steadied myself?

I left Stockton with my mom and sister and we sped right to the ER. I sat back with Carson trying to calm him. I had to cover my face as I sobbed. I couldn't shake the horror of what had happened and listening to Carson wail in that tone only known to someone who has been greatly hurt--was absolutely terrifying.

We did not wait long for attention at the ER. The doctor looked him over and said that if his bump gets bigger they will need to sedate him and have a CT scan to check for brain damage or a skull fracture. The mention of brain damage and skull fracture caused me to nearly have a seizure because I serve with people who are brain injured; and I’ve seen many become intellectually disabled over less of a fall. Since the cons out weigh the pros we didn’t get a CT scan. We were discharged after Carson received some pain meds, and we were given a list of signs to look for within the next 24 hours.

Carson did eventually perk up and was acting his normal self. I am hopeful that Carson will recover and that his energy is a sign of his good health.

I am still fighting the persistence of my memory to relive that moment. I have guilt but I am also tremendously grateful for blessings during heart ache.

Stockton's first time fishing!

My parents took us fishing for Stockton's first time. He was not afraid of the fish. In fact, he drug them around like pets and felt every part of them, eyes, teeth, everything. He really enjoyed it!!! Which made my parents happy, since they are both avid fishermen.

Best hubs ever!
Me with my first catch.
This could be a freakin' Coke commercial. I love it!! Stockton loves those little cans.
The dragging. A little family with 3 girls were disturbed with the way Stockton was handling the fish and the mother actually asked my mom if he could put them back in the water. I had to laugh.

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! Stockton had a great time and we caught 4 fish...which also tasted good :) Stockton enjoyed fishing, feeding the ducks and geese, and playing on the playground that had there. Overall, a fantastic afternoon.
My parents. Cute, cute. Stockton cried leaving them - even though we spent about 5 hours with them. It's never enough.

Obsessed...

Stockton is obsessed with cars. Has been his whole life. He's also obsessed with lining things up. These two obsessions together means every flat surface of my home is lined with cars. He's hilarious! :)
