First Swim of the Summer!!

Stockton was so funny with all the balls. He would throw them out of the little pool, only to throw them back into the pool. This was a cycle he continued on and on. Notice his adorable Lightening McQueen swim trunks (thanks Grandma!!) and of course, a Lightening McQueen ball.
I thought it was so cute to watch Stockton interact in the water. He was so funny to watch!

Honestly. Does it get any cuter than this? I think not!
Once Stockton saw the Taxi flotation device he wanted it. As you can see he was talking the entire time I pushed him around the pool in it.

My little boy has the cutest little boy body in the entire world!!!

Swimin' at Grandma's!!

It took Stockton a while to warm up to the water, which surprised me because he LOVES baths and showers. But after a bit he was ready to swim with the rest of em'!

After swimming for well over an hour, Stockton had some lunch only to dive right back in! I'm so glad he loves swimming because it is one of my favorite things to do. It was fun to share it with him.

6th Wedding Anniversary!!

Paul and I had our sixth wedding anniversary on June 1st. Unfortunately, Stockton was just coming out of the hospital and we did not get to celebrate it. We are, however, going to see Jerry Seinfeld on Friday to celebrate. But in thinking about my marriage on our sixth anniversary, I am eternally grateful to Paul for not only giving me such a happy life, luxurious in endless amounts of love, but for giving me my baby boy, Stockton.

Having a child bends marriage in new ways--exposing both vulnerabilities and strengths. I have enjoyed watching my husband metamorph into a father, into someone who jumps out of bed in the middle of the night to check on our son, someone who has given up plenty, someone who loves being silly with Stockton, and someone who has gracefully allowed a little boy to crowd his world.

I am enormously grateful to Paul for his patience with me over the past 2 years--for supporting me during an often wretched pregnancy, for being there during the delivery and emotionally painful aftermath of having a preemie, and for thanking me pretty much daily for being a good mom. I never lack for affection or compliments from him and I don't want to take those luxuries for granted.

I love marriage and I attribute that love to Paul and for his ability to make marriage such a dynamic organism. Our marriage has LIFE--it seems to breathe vigorously and although it fluctuates in energy, it always endures and always satisfies. I love being in a relationship that is so important and so meaningful that it allows for vulnerability, that we care and love enough to sometimes be hurt and most of the time be buoyed and steadied by our intimacy and interaction.

Thanks Paul. Thank you for giving me a life that never lacks for love and that now includes our fantastic son, Stockton.

HERO SCAPE!!

Paul's first attempt at Hero Scape. We played teams; Paul and I against Tayten and Ryan. We lost miserably!!

This is a pretty fun game! I really liked it. Paul and I will have to practice so the next time Ryan and Tayten come over we can beat them!

Father's Day!

My Boys! I love them! You can see Stockton's bandaged hand. It must be covered to keep from getting infection. Poor buddy!
Paul got a game he has been wanting forever! Hero Scape! It is the newest thing and it was fun to give him something that he wanted so badly.
Me and my daddy. Ohhh...
My cousin Sarah and her pops.

My mother and Talon are so similiar! Here they are putting together 3D puzzles. Stocky and Sydney made quite the mess with the licorice.

Orem Days Carnival

Stockton hated the carousel!! He screamed and cried the entire time. Wow! That seemed like a long ride.

Stockton did, however, love the fireworks. He sat still and watched them the entire time. Just like his daddy!

Cutie Pie!

My son is absolutely adorable!! He loves Mickey Mouse and is so great for the camera. Problem is, he keeps getting hurt. My little man made another trip to the emergency room. Yes, Paul and I joke that we have a punch card and that our next visit is free. Being a working mom it is tough to get things done. I am always juggling a million things at one time. While making dinner (pancakes) I was holding Stockton when he reached out and touched the griddle! His entire hand began to blister. It is unreal the guilt that comes with children. I try not to be too hard on myself, but it is hard to see your baby hurting when you could have prevented it.

Stockton's Hospital Stay...

Stockton had to stay 3 days and 2 nights at the hospital. He became very sick on Tuesday and ended up in the hospital for dehydration. They ran several tests and never found out what was wrong with him. We are very grateful for all the great nurses and doctors at American Fork Hosptial who helped get our buddy back to normal. Since Stockton didn't have a diagnosis they considered him contagious. They wouldn't let him out of his room and all the nurses wore gloves and aprons every time they came into our room. Although they released him yesterday we still never found out what he had or what made him so sick. I just hope it is gone and that this never happens to us again. It was the longest 3 days of my life!! Home Sweet Home!!
